Thoughts for the Season – new year – new attitude

I recommend going into this year with a positive and focused attitude – aim to sort out what needs to be sorted out. If you are working your ass off, try to slow down and focus on working on your business instead of in it, if you are being engulfed by debt, take some time each month to review your income and expenses and start to make progress towards getting out of debt and living within your income level.

Your bookkeeper can only work with you as much as you are willing to work on things yourself. We are not miracle workers who can make things better. The bottom line is, if you are spending more than you are earning, you will be going backwards.

It is not easy to find the balance to do all the things that a business owner needs to do, after all,  as a small business owner you are the head of finance, marketing, HR, admin and management. You can, however start to take control of some of these things. By taking a bit more time planning all things should start to work out better.
